Youth obstacle and mud run comes to Louisville | Business
From: Might Titan
LOUISVILLE, Ky. Louisville youth fitness expert Nicole Tegeler, MS, YFS, has announced the launch of Mighty Titan, LLC, a first-of-its kind Youth Obstacle Mud Runs and EliteX Series events designed to ensure kids have FUN…get DIRTY…and get FIT! The Mighty Titan obstacle mud races are the hottest growing events in the youth fitness industry. Our purpose is to inspire children between four to 18 years-of-age to perform to the best of their athletic ability and use the discipline of sport as a powerful educational tool.
“Childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions, one in eight U.S. preschoolers is obese, and children who are obese are five times as likely to be overweight or obese as adults, according to the CDC’s Division of Nutrition and 32% of kids are considered mildly obese” said Tegeler of Mighty Titans. “In order to fight this problem we must help instill a passion for fitness among our youth by making physical activity exciting, safe and non-intimidating. We are thrilled to begin these efforts in Louisville with the launch of Mighty Titans.”
Kids will have an EPIC challenge on our .75 mile to 1.5 mile Mud Obstacle Runs or can choose a new and exciting challenge for thrill seeking athletes in our 3 mile ELITEXSERIES. The Elite X Series was created to fill a void no other sport provides, a true test of your overall fitness. The racecourse consists of various obstacles combined with functional exercise stations such as burpee's, one legged squats or planks. Make no mistake Mighty Titan Adventures offers exhilarating and supercharged events you can participate in with your friends and family.
“We have always been committed to offering quality Fit Kidz programs and services to the Louisville community, so these programs developed as a natural transition,” said Tegeler. “If it’s not fun, kids aren’t going to do it. So we design our courses to spark the excitement in youth, while meeting our goal of controlling weight, building lean muscle and developing strong bones and joints.” A quote from a mother whose child participated in one of the Mud Runs clearly demonstrates the fun and enthusiasm in running the awesome obstacle course. “It was his first obstacle race and he was so, so, so excited about it. As in the picture you can see him prepping for the race, or at least what he thought he needed to do. He and his brother have made obstacle races now in our backyard as a result of him having so much fun. Thanks for putting the race on. ” Jeanette Dunlap.
